NIE Appointment in Spain
Obtaining the correct appointment is a separate part of the NIE procedure. Office, province, appointment category, applicant location and supporting reason must match; an appointment alone does not guarantee approval.
Choose the correct appointment category
NIE assignments may be handled by police, immigration offices or Spanish consulates depending on location and route.
Booking a fingerprint, EU registration or TIE appointment does not substitute for the category used for an initial NIE assignment.
Prepare the file before booking
The applicant must present a genuine economic, professional or social reason and evidence accepted by the competent office.
Passport details, province, address, EX-15 and representative powers should be checked before reserving a slot.
Documents and evidence
The application form, fee receipt, identity document, reason evidence and appointment confirmation form the usual file.
Appointment confirmation
Passport or EU identity card
Completed EX-15
Modelo 790 fee receipt
Evidence of the reason for the NIE
Attendance, decision and collection
Availability varies by province and official slots are released through the public cita previa system without a guarantee of timing.
At attendance the authority can request further evidence, issue the certificate, arrange later collection or refuse an incomplete application.
Deadlines, risks and individual strategy
Paying unofficial resellers for unverifiable appointments or using automated access that breaches public-system rules creates fraud and cancellation risk.
Jurisdiction, personal circumstances and current administrative or court practice must be checked for every case. We prepare the Spanish file and coordinate the appropriate regulated specialist where representation is required.
Useful official resources
Official requirements, fees and procedures can change. The competent authority and current rules are checked for each individual case.
